Overview
TabVault is a browser extension that helps you save and organize open tabs into categorized lists. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what happens to your data when you use it — which, in short, is nothing leaves your computer.
What We Collect
Nothing. TabVault does not collect any personal data, browsing history, analytics, or usage statistics of any kind. There are no servers involved in TabVault's operation — the extension is fully self-contained inside your browser.
Where Your Data Lives
All tab data you vault — URLs, page titles, and the categories they're sorted
into — is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in
storage API. This data never leaves your device. It is not
synced to any external server, not uploaded anywhere, and not accessible to
us or to any third party.
No Tracking, No Analytics
- No analytics or telemetry of any kind
- No third-party tracking scripts
- No cookies used
- No network requests are ever made by the extension
No Accounts Required
TabVault does not require you to sign up, sign in, or create an account. There is no login, no cloud sync, and nothing tied to your identity. You can use every feature immediately after installing.
Permissions Explained
TabVault requests a small set of permissions, each used only for the extension's core functionality:
storage— Saves your vaulted tabs (URLs, titles, categories) locally on your device.tabs— Reads tab URLs and titles when you vault them, closes tabs when you enable auto-close, and reopens tabs you restore from the vault.contextMenus— Adds "Send to TabVault" to the page right-click menu and "Vault All Tabs" to the extension icon's right-click menu.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this same page with a revised "Last updated" date at the top.
